Its gentle slopes are comprised of glacial alluvium deposit terrace composed of shingles and clay. The vineyard is 2.7 hectares and completely biodynamically managed. Due to low yields, the annual case production is small; approximately 150 to 200 cases are produced. Les Greffieux displays steady garnet red color with aromas of black fruit and minerals. On the palate, the wine is powerful with powerful and balanced tannins flavors of dark fruit, licorice and spice.

White Wine by Guigal from Condrieu, France - Rhone. Condrieu is the original home of the Viognier vine and is the source of one of the world's most exotic white wines. The tiny, parcelated appellation (500 acres total) is located on steep hillsides beginning at a bend in the Rhone river just south of Cote Rotie and continuing intermittently about 12 miles further south. Marcel Guigal supplements the production of his own Condrieu vineyards with grapes purchased from numerous small growers, vinifying two thirds of the wine in stainless steel and the remainder in new barriques. The delicately elusive perfume suggests pears, spice, and honeysuckle, while on the palate the wine is surprisingly rich and full-bodied, a wine for both the intellect and the senses. Condrieu may be enjoyed as aperitif with foie gras, lobster and other rich seafoods, and white asparagus.

12 bottles of Le Prince de Courthézon 2013 Cotes du Rhone AOC.A Gold medal winner for the last three vintages, this is a gorgeous, velvety Rhône red and offers terrific value. It's from the only co-operative cellar in Châteauneuf du Pape, the top appellation of the southern Rhône, and is owned and run by local growers. The grapes are from vineyards that abut the famous name appellation and share the same stone strewn soil that promotes superb ripeness and richness of fruit. The vines are old and gnarled, producing few grapes but with rare concentration of flavour. Well travelled winemaker Thierry Ferlay brings a modern perspective to his work, and we think his Côtes du Rhône is exceptionally good. The 2013 vintage is a cracker - spot-on with lamb, a robust cassoulet, duck or slow cooked casseroles. You must be over 18 to buy this product.
