The history of Ahmedabad dates back to the 11th century when it was a small village called Ashaval. In 1411, Sultan Ahmed Shah established the city of Ahmedabad and made it the capital of the Sultanate of Gujarat. During the Mughal era, the city flourished as a center of trade and commerce, attracting merchants from across the world. The Old City of Ahmedabad(Bizzlane in Ahmedabad) was built during this period and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
