We never get snow in the UK. For some reason, 2010 has seen something of a blizzard head our way, however. It's perfect weather for Sega's latest Olympics game, which this time focuses on Vancouver's Winter Olympics for a change in arcade-style sports challenges. And being the master of arcade style games, Sega has taken a sort of 'International Track and Field' approach to Vancouver 2010, only without the insane button mashing. From Downhill Skiing to Bobsledding, the controls are accessible and easy to understand for anyone willing to brave the virtual cold in the name of sporting excellence. But in no way does it make the experience cheap - it can be challenging to keep your balance as you rocket around a corner in the Skeleton event. Some of the new control schemes have been introduced to make the game more exciting, and if you access the first-person camera mode, you can get a helping hand with controls and button timing. Once you've mastered various events, your best scores get added to the online leaderboards, and you can even enjoy revamped online gameplay. And if the standard set of Olympic events isn't enough for you, there's the brand new challenge mode which will test your skills by putting a spin on some of the world's best-loved sports.
