Located in the region of Achaea, a five-minute drive south east from the region s municipal capital of Diacopto in the Peloponnese. The vines are planted in the shadow of the Aroania mountains, home to the Aristarchos telescope, a ski resort and an abundance of butterflies. In an area famous throughout the ages for the excellent quality of its grapes and wine (Pausanias refers to the villages of Aegialia as ideal for the growing of vineyards) the Tetramythos winery has been following melticulously and with enthusiasm the principles of organic farming. For every hectolitre of wine, winemaker Panagiotis Papagiannoupoulos adds one kilo of hand-harvested pine resin and this is all then matured in clay amphorae.
