Rich, ripe and opulent in the making, this is a magnificent expression of the tiny production Grand Cru. Crafted with the utmost care and fastidious attention to detail, it uses the hand picked, hand sorted fruit of 35 year old vineyards from the 'crown jewel' hill of Corton. After a gentle pressing, the juice is slowly fermented in oak, prior to 18 months' ageing on its lees for extra depth and complexity. Burgundy fans will adore the concentrated fruit and up-front oak which are offset by the hallmark acidity of the vintage, leaving a powerful wine with a finish that's as clean as a whistle. This wine is still a mere infant and will open up with ageing. Let it breathe, and enjoy with the finest dining - lobster, creamy poultry or turbot.
