The Dampt brothers, Eric, Emmanuel and Hervé, may only be second generation winemakers, but they produce some of the region's finest Chablis. That's why, every year, we are hot foot to their cellar door, eager to try out the new vintage. And 2013 was impressive, albeit meagre in quantity. It is the appellation's Kimmeridgian clay soils, along with a marginal cool climate that only just ripens the grapes, plus the domaine's excellent sites and exacting standards in the vineyard, that result in such special wines. This 2013 is a modern classic with a mineral, hay and citrus character that will develop honeyed intensity as it matures, whilst retaining an important streak of bone dry minerality. Enjoy with oysters, salmon or savoury choucroute. You must be over 18 to buy this product.
